Matthew "Matt" Beleskey (born June 7, 1988 in Windsor , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League since February 2018 and at the same time for their farm team, the Hartford Wolf Pack , in the American Hockey League is used.
Career
Beleskey began his career as a hockey player with the Belleville Bulls , for which he was active in the Ontario Hockey League from 2004 to 2008 . During this time he was selected in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft as the 112th player of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim .
For the now renamed Anaheim Ducks team, the attacker made his debut in the National Hockey League on January 9, 2009 in the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning . In addition, the left-handed shooter completed a total of 58 games for the Ducks farm team , the Iowa Chops from the American Hockey League, in the 2008/09 season . He scored 35 points scorer, including eleven goals. In the following season, the offensive player earned a permanent place in the Ducks team, completing 60 games in the NHL and scoring 18 points. In September 2010, he extended his contract with the Southern Californians for two more years until the end of June 2013.
After another contract extension, he did not receive one after the 2014/15 season, so he joined the Boston Bruins as a free agent in July 2015 . There, the attacker was nearly two and a half years active before the trade deadline in February 2018 along with Ryan Spooner , Ryan Lindgren , a first-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2018 and a seventh-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2019 to the New York Rangers was given . In return, Rick Nash moved to Boston, with both parties taking over the respective salaries of Nash and Beleskey to 50%.
International
For the Canadian national team , Beleskey took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2006 . He has been on the ice in seven games for Canada and contributed one assist. The winger finished the tournament with the maple leaves in fourth place.
