The province of Medea ( Arabic ولاية المدية, DMG Wilāyat al-Madiyya , tamazight ⴰⴳⴻⵣⴷⵓ ⵏ ⵎⴷⵉⵢⵢⴰ Agezdu n Mdiyya ) is a province ( wilaya ) in northern Algeria .
The province is located south of Algiers in the Atlas Mountains and has an area of 8330 km². Around 733,000 people (2006 estimate) inhabit the province, so the population density is 88 inhabitants per square kilometer. The capital of the province is Medea .
