The Tipasa or Tipaza Province ( Arabic ولاية تيبازة, DMG Wilāyat Tībāza , tamazight ⴰⴳⴻⵣⴷⵓ ⵏ ⵜⵉⵒⴰⵣⴰ Agezdu n Tipaza ) is a province ( wilaya ) in northern Algeria .

The province is located on the Mediterranean coast , around 50 km west of the capital Algiers , its area is 1700 km².

Around 469,000 people (2006 estimate) inhabit the province, so the population density is around 276 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The capital of the province is Tipasa . The city gained literary honor through the story “Homecoming to Tipasa” by the Algerian-born French writer Albert Camus .
