The province of Blida ( Arabic ولاية البليدة, DMG Wilāyat al-Bulaida , tamazight ⴰⴳⴻⵣⴷⵓ ⵏ ⴱⵍⵉⴷⴰ Agezdu n Blida ) is a province ( wilaya ) in northern Algeria .
The province is located southwest of Algiers in the Atlas Mountains . With an area of 1102 km² it is one of the smallest provinces in the country.
With a population of around 802,000 people (2006 estimate), however, it is very densely populated, with a population density of 728 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The capital of the province is Blida , the next largest city is Beni Merad (Bani Marad).
