The Mediclin AG (proper name MediClin , commercial law MEDICLIN Aktiengesellschaft ) is a hospital operator based in Offenburg in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

history

The company was founded in 1996. When it was founded, the main shareholders included the Provinzial Lebensversicherungsanstalt der Rheinprovinz (today: Provinzial Rheinland ) and the Victoria Versicherungsgesellschaft AG (today: Ergo Versicherung ). At the turn of the year 1997/98, the Hedon Clinic, Lingen , was the first clinic to be integrated into the MediClin network. On December 30, 1998, the Hurrle Group - built up by Rüdiger Hurrle - was taken over. In 1998, DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG was won as a shareholder . 10.5 million of the shares offered came from a capital increase , 962,500 shares and the over-allotment option were made available by the existing shareholders.

The Ergo Insurance Group , a subsidiary of Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft AG , exceeded the limit of 30 percent share ownership in MediClin AG on July 4, 2008 and subsequently submitted a mandatory offer . In November 2008 there was a capital increase by 31.5 million to 47.25 million euros.

On December 16, 2008, Asklepios Kliniken took over 10.57 percent of the shares, on April 23, 2009 the share was increased to 20.21 percent and on May 20, 2009 to 25.21 percent, before the share was increased again Finally, on March 24, 2011, a takeover offer was published by Asklepios Kliniken to 30.73 percent.

Since October 1, 2010, the Medicoreha Welsink Academy with its state-recognized college for physiotherapy has been offering over 140 apprenticeships and the dual bachelor's degree in "Applied Therapy Sciences" at the academy in the MediClin specialist clinic Rhein / Ruhr in Essen-Kettwig.

Mediclin AG is one of the initiators of the rehabilitation portal Qualitätskliniken.de. On the website, patients should be informed transparently about the services and quality of rehabilitation clinics based on comparison portals. For this purpose, the areas of treatment quality, patient safety and organizational quality are evaluated and patients are asked about their satisfaction.
