Yıldırım Mert Çetin (born January 1, 1997 in Çankaya ) is a Turkish football player who has been under contract with AS Roma since August 2019 and was loaned to the Italian first division club Hellas Verona for the 2020/21 season.

Career

Çetin was born in the town of Çankaya , a municipality and at the same time a district of the central Anatolian city ​​of Ankara . With the club football he started in the youth department of Gençlerbirliği Ankara . In the summer of 2015, Çetin switched to the Hacettepe SK farm team , where he signed a professional contract. In the same transfer window he was loaned back to Gençlerbirliği Ankara for a season. There the under 20-year-old Çetin was only used in the reserve team (Gençlerbirliği Ankara U21). For the 2016/17 season he returned to his professional club Hacettepe SK and played 31 competitive games.

In August 2017, Çetin moved back to his youth club Gençlerbirliği Ankara, but this time as a professional player.
