The FK Yenisei ( Russian Футбольный клуб "Енисей" Futbolny club "Yenisei" ), known in German-speaking countries as Yenisey Krasnoyarsk , is a Russian football club from the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk on the river Yenisei .
history
The association was founded in 1937 as Lokomotiv Krasnoyarsk . Until the collapse of the Soviet Union , the team mostly played in the third-highest division of the USSR . In 1992 the team was accepted into the second highest Russian league , where they spent two seasons. Also in the years 1996, 1999-2002 and 2006 the club was second class. In 2010, by winning the zone championship in the 2nd division , the promotion could be celebrated. In the 2015/16 season , the 16th place in the table would have resulted in relegation to the third division. However, the FK Yenisei was allowed to replace the FK Smena Komsomolsk-na-Amure in the Perwenstwo FNL, who had voluntarily renounced promotion due to lack of funds for the game operation. In the 2016/17 season, Yenisei fought for third place in the table (relegation place). In the relegation Krasnoyarsk met Arsenal Tula and missed promotion after 2: 1 and 0: 1 due to the away goal rule . As a result, the Russian Dmitri Alenitschew was hired as the new head coach in June 2017 .
In 2017/18 the team again secured a relegation place, played for the second time for promotion to the top football league and rose to the Premjer league for the first time after two games against Anzhi Makhachkala . There the FK Yenisei could not establish itself and rose again after one season.
