Michael Blum (born December 25, 1988 in Düsseldorf ) is a German soccer player who is used on the left flank both as a full-back and in midfield . For Karlsruher SC and for Hansa Rostock Blum came in the course of his career to a total of 34 appearances 2. Bundesliga .

Career

Youth in Düsseldorf and Essen

Blum began his football career in his hometown, where he first played for the Düsseldorf CfR left , then for Ballspielverein 04 and finally as a C-youth for the most successful club in town, Fortuna 95 . As a teenager he finally moved to Rot-Weiss Essen , leaving Düsseldorf for the first time. In Essen , Blum then completed his A-youth period by making 20 and 22 appearances respectively in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons of the U-19 Bundesliga , but only in the lower half of the final table with Rot-Weiss the season West could position.

Via Mülheim to Karlsruhe

In the summer of 2007, Blum changed clubs again, so that he experienced his first season in the men's area at Mülheimer VfB Speldorf . With 34 appearances during the 2007/08 season of the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein , he became a regular player straight away. At the end of the season, however, Speldorf was only in 16th place in the final table, which meant that the club did not qualify for the NRW league that was to emerge from summer 2008 and was thus fifth class. Blum was then obliged by Karlsruher SC , who played in the Bundesliga in the 2008/09 season ; Initially, however, Blum was only assigned to the reserve team, which competed in the fourth-class regional league. So he came in the Regionalliga season 2008/09 to 31 missions in which he scored two goals. At the same time, the Karlsruhe professional team rose from the Bundesliga to the 2nd Bundesliga , whereupon Blum was promoted to the squad for the 2009/10 second division season . He initially continued to play for the reserve team in the regional league until he was used for the first time in the second division on September 14, 2009 when he was substituted for Energie Cottbus . Until February 2010 he was then called up only once for the reserve team, but played another 14 times for the second division team, in which he temporarily established himself as a regular and for which he scored a total of two goals. From February to June 2010, however, Blum was only used in the regional league, which is why he left Karlsruhe at the end of the season and joined league rivals MSV Duisburg .

Via Duisburg to Rostock

In Duisburg , Blum signed a two-year contract and was initially part of the squad for the second division team in the 2010/11 season . Subsequently, however, Blum could not prevail and only played for the reserve team in the NRW League, in which he completed six missions in the first half of the 2010/11 season . A.

During the 2010/11 winter break, Blum was awarded for half a year to Hansa Rostock , who was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga to the 3rd division in the 2010/11 season . The loan agreement, however, provided for a final move from Blum to Hansa if the club were to advance directly to the 2nd Bundesliga. Finally, Blum contributed with eleven missions to the promotion as runner-up in the 3rd division, where he was substituted on ten times. Nevertheless, the contract with Hansa, which was valid until 2013, came into force. At the end of the season, Blum also won the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Cup with Rostock , to which he had contributed with a goal in four appearances.

At the beginning of the second division season 2011/12 , Blum could no longer recommend himself for the professional team Hansas trained by Peter Vollmann and was instead used in three games of the reserve team, which played in the fifth-class league in 2011/12 under Axel Rietentiet . It was not until October 2011 that Blum made seven appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga; However, Hansa was in danger of relegation and replaced coach Vollmann after the first half of the season with Wolfgang Wolf . Although Blum was used twice by this before the winter break, the change of coach meant a setback for him in the end, as he was no longer taken into account in spring 2012 and in the meantime ran up again for the reserve team in the league. From March 2012, however, Blum became a regular in the Rostock second division team with another ten appearances in the last ten match days. Hansa could not achieve the desired relegation with the penultimate matchday and was the first relegated to the 3rd division.

In the third division, Hansa initially fell short of expectations in 2012/13 , which is why coach Wolf was replaced by Marc Fascher during the season, under whom the club played against the threat of relegation to fourth division. For Blum, the season was nevertheless a turning point, as he was able to establish himself permanently as a regular player for the first time with 35 out of 38 possible league appearances. As a result, the club, which forced a rebuilding of the team after reaching relegation, planned, however, no longer with Blum, so that he received no offer to extend his expiring contract.

Via Osnabrück to Elversberg, Trier, Chemnitz and Berlin

In July 2013, Blum agreed with VfL Osnabrück on a contract dated June 30, 2014, which meant that he also played in the third division in the 2013/14 season . After his contract in Osnabrück had not been extended, he moved to the regional league club SV Elversberg for the 2014/15 season . For the 2016/17 season, Blum joined the regional league team Eintracht Trier for one year , then switched to Wuppertaler SV during the 2018 winter break , which he left again at the end of the season. On June 1, 2018, Chemnitzer FC from the Regionalliga Nordost announced the commitment of Michael Blum. With the CFC he achieved promotion to the third division, but was adopted at the end of the season. In the summer of 2109 he then signed a contract with BFC Dynamo .
