The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources ( English Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources ; MFMR ) is the fishing - and marine Ministry of Namibia .

The Ministry's task is to organize, authorize and monitor the use of the rich fish stocks in Namibia's 200-mile zone in the Atlantic . This also includes the use of other marine resources and inland fishing . Among other things, it operates the National Maritime Aquarium of Namibia in Swakopmund .

The Ministry operates two ocean-going vessels to secure the coastal waters, the Nathaniël Maxuilili (named after Nathaniël Maxuilili ) and the Anna Kakurukaze Mungunda (after Anna Mungunda ) as well as the research vessel Mirabilis (after the Mirabilis ) .
