The Mitropapokal 1935 was the 9th edition of the international cup competition. The best teams from Austria , Hungary , Czechoslovakia and Italy took part. It was mostly the champions, runners-up and cup winners of the respective countries. The participants played in a pure cup mode with two legs in the most important continental football competition in the period before the Second World War. In the event of a tie after two games, a playoff was played. All 16 clubs started in the round of 16. The defending champion FC Bologna was not at the start this time. Last year's finalist SK Admira Wien was eliminated in the round of 16. The early elimination of the co-favorites to win the title SK Rapid Wien against the Czech representative SK Židenice was also surprising .
Sparta Prague won its third finals after 1927 and 1930 against Ferencváros Budapest , which was in the final for the second time since 1928, as the second club in the history of the competition to win its second title. As in the previous year, both finals were chaired by English referees. The top scorer of the competition was the Hungarian György Sárosi from finalist Ferencváros with nine goals.
