The Central German Football Championship 1919/20 of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs was the 19th season of the Central German Football Championship . This year's championship was held in regional leagues, the winners of which met in a round-robin tournament . This was won by VfB Leipzig with a two-point lead over FC Wacker Halle and thus became Central German soccer champions for the ninth time. After the end of the First World War , the German football championship took place again this season. By winning the Central German soccer championship, Leipzig qualified for the 1919/20 German soccer championship , which ended in the quarter-finals after a 2-0 defeat against eventual champions 1. FC Nürnberg .
mode
This year's competition mode has been changed significantly. Instead of the numerous regional Gauligen, 7 district leagues were created as the first division, which included several Gaue. The Gauligen functioned from then on as the second division. The district champions qualified for the Central German football final, which was held for the first time in a round-robin tournament. The table statuses from the individual circular leagues are only partially available.

Elbe district
The Elbe district was formed from the Altmark, Anhalt, Harz and Middle Elbe districts. Standings from this season are not recorded, the Magdeburger SC prevailed.
Circle central axes
The district of Central Saxony was formed from the Gauen Erzgebirge, Central Saxony, Upper Ore Mountains and Southwest Saxony, with the top district league only being played with three Chemnitz clubs.

District of northwest Saxony
The district of North West Saxony consisted primarily of the Gau North West Saxony (Leipzig). In later seasons there are also Torgau clubs in the lower leagues, so that it can be assumed that at least part of the Gaus Elbe-Elster was also part of this circle.

East Saxony district
The district of East Saxony was formed from the districts of East Saxony and Upper Lusatia. Standings from this season are not recorded, the Dresdner SV 06 prevailed.
Saale district
The Saale district was formed from the Saale and Saale-Elster districts. From this season only the participants and the winner, FC Wacker Halle , have been handed down from the regional league .

The district of Thuringia was already formed last year, the substructure of the district league was formed by the districts of Kyffhäuser, Northern Thuringia, Eastern Thuringia, Southern Thuringia, Wartburg and Western Thuringia.

Central German football final
The championship final took place for the first time in a round-robin tournament . The district champions were qualified, whereby there was an elimination game between the winners of the districts of central Saxony and eastern Saxony.
