The EuroVelo route EV4 is a 4,000-kilometer long-distance cycle route from Roscoff in France to Kiev in the Ukraine .

Routing

France, Belgium and the Netherlands

In France , Belgium and the Netherlands there is a well-developed network of cycle routes that are already signposted with the planned route. Because of the large number of cycle paths, good maps are advisable.

The EV4 starts in Roscoff in France, runs through Bruges in Belgium, Breda and Eindhoven in the Netherlands and crosses the German-Dutch border at Venlo .

Germany

In Germany, the EV4 runs through the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia , Rhineland-Palatinate , Hesse and Bavaria . It leads from the Dutch border to the Rhine near Düsseldorf , along it to the mouth of the Main and along it to its source at Bischofsgrün and on to the German-Czech border at Cheb. In Germany, the EV4 route from Düsseldorf runs on the routes of the existing cycle paths of the D-Netz (Dutch border - Mainz ( D-Route 8 ); and Mainz - Czech border ( D-Route 5 )).

Czech Republic

The Czech section runs from Cheb via the cities of Pilsen , Prague and Brno to Ostrava .

Poland

In Poland , the long-distance cycle route is to run from the Czech-Polish border via Kraków and Rzeszów to the Ukrainian border.

Ukraine

The section in Ukraine runs from the Polish border via Lviv , Zhytomyr to the Ukrainian capital Kiev .
