Nürnberg Nordost train station (also Nürnberg Nordostbahnhof ) is located on the Ringbahn and Graefenbergbahn and is located in the north of Nuremberg between the districts of Schoppershof and Klingenhof . It is divided into station category 6 and has two platform tracks, namely a through and a stump track, which are located on a 145 m long and 55 cm high island platform. The station is served by the regional train line R21 (Nürnberg Nordost - Graefenberg) and is linked to the underground line U2 and city bus lines.
history
The station was built by the Royal Bavarian State Railways and opened on July 1, 1899 together with the ring line section Nuremberg East - Nuremberg North. Initially it was only used for freight traffic, for which various loading tracks and a goods shed were created. Passenger traffic commenced with the opening of the Graefenbergbahn on February 1, 1908, of which between 1911 and 1912 occasional trips on the Ringbahn and the Nuremberg – Cheb railway line were extended to the main station. With the exception of these connections, the station has since been operated as an island station for passenger traffic, which is connected to the main station by tram until 1996 and since then by subway . In the 1990s, the loading of goods was abandoned, the track systems gradually dismantled and the station building demolished. The last renovation took place with the renovation of the Graefenbergbahn between July and September 1999. In addition to the construction of a new island platform and direct access to the Nordostbahnhof underground station , the overpass over the Äußere Bayreuther Straße ( B 2 ) was renewed and a 208 m long siding was built .
