NGC 2491 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Little Dog south of the ecliptic . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2485 , NGC 2496 , NGC 2499 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 15, 1885 .
