NGC 2481 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Gemini on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 93 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 40,000 ly. It is likely to form a bound pair of galaxies with NGC 2480 . The galaxy IC 481 is still in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by William Herschel on February 28, 1785 .
