NGC 2466 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Volans at the southern sky . It is an estimated 228 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.
The supernovae SN 2003gh ( type Ia ) and ASASSN -14dd (type Ibn) were observed here.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on February 20, 1835 .
