NGC 4175 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is estimated 179 million light years from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 95,000 ly.
Together with NGC 4169 , NGC 4173 and NGC 4174 , it forms the Hickson Compact Group 61 ( The Box ).
The object was discovered on April 11, 1785 by the German-British astronomer William Herschel .
