NGC 5439 is a 13.9 likes bright spiral galaxy with pronounced emission lines from the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is estimated to be 89 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 9, 1883 .
