NGC 5425 is a 13.5 likes bright spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type Scd in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 97 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years across .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 5448 .
The type IIP supernova SN 2011ck was observed here.
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 16, 1884 .
