NGC 5562 is a 13.6 likes bright spiral radio galaxy from the Hubble type S? in the constellation Bear Keeper and about 341 million light years from the Milky Way.

It was discovered by Wilhelm Tempel on June 28, 1883 , who “Two degrees north of it [NGC 5511] I found a new nebula on June 28 and observed it several times. At the moment I can only get his position from Argelander's Atlas [BD] : 14h 13m Os + 10d 39 ′. He is small, III; 3 ′ south of it a star 11m, and 3s after that a faint star ”noted.
