The 1975/76 season was the 38th regular staging of the National League A , the highest Swiss league in ice hockey . For the first time in the club's history, SC Langnau became Swiss champions, while HC Villars was relegated to the NLB.

In a common main round, each of the eight teams played four games against each group opponent, making the total number of games per team 28. The first place in the main round was champion. The last placed in the main round was relegated to the NLB. Each team received two points for a win and one point for a tie. If you lost, you didn't get any points.
