White and Black Moor nature reserve

The nature reserve Weißes und Schwarzes Moor is a 122 hectare nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania west of Schönwolde in the Schaalsee biosphere reserve . It was placed under protection on October 20, 1998 with the aim of naturally developing a rain bog complex with surrounding areas. The current state of the area is assessed as unsatisfactory because the water balance of the areas is disturbed. The area is of great importance for numerous species of spiders and hoverflies. Adder and numerous bat species are found. There are no public roads in the area.
