NextGen Series 2011/12

The NextGen Series 2012/13 was the second and final playout of of film producer Justin Andrews and the sporting director of FC Brentford Mark Warburton initiated European football club competition for male soccer players under 19 years. Due to the increased field of participants, 24 clubs from 13 national associations of UEFA took part for the first time this season . In the 2013/14 season, the competition was replaced by the UEFA Youth League .

The season began with the first group matches on August 15, 2012 and ended with the final on April 1, 2013 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in Como, northern Italy . The two semi-finals on March 29 and the game for third place on March 31, 2013 also took place in this stadium.

The game was played along the lines of European club competitions in a combination of group stage with home and away legs and a knockout system from the round of 16. It was played in six groups of four teams each. The two best teams in each group and the four best third-placed teams qualified for the round of 16.
