Saifen-Boden is a former municipality with 1100 inhabitants (as of February 14, 2017) in the judicial district of Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld in Styria ( Austria ). As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , the municipality has been merged with the municipalities of Rabenwald , Pöllau , Schönegg bei Pöllau and Sonnhofen since 2015 , the new municipality continues to bear the name of Marktgemeinde Pöllau. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. Two appeal proceedings against the amalgamation of the municipalities, which the municipality had brought before the Constitutional Court , were unsuccessful.

Geographical location
Saifen-Boden is located approx. 15 km west of the district capital Hartberg and approx. 35 km northeast of the provincial capital Graz . The community is part of the Pöllauer Tal nature park in Joglland . The municipality is traversed by the Pöllauer Safen , which rises in the municipality as Saifen. Together with its tributaries, it drains the community. The municipal area rises from east to west. It has its lowest point on the Pöllauer Safen near Pöllau , its highest point on the western edge of the municipality in the Rabenwald .

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from August 1, 1998.
Regional policy
Until the end of 2014, Saifen-Boden was a member of the Pöllauer Tal nature park community association, and with this in the LEADER region of Eastern Styrian heartland . On December 7, 2010, the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park was also constituted as a small region . On the occasion of the municipal structural reform 2010–2015 , Saifen-Boden was merged with other municipalities (Rabenwald, Schönegg bei Pöllau and Sonnhofen) in the small region with Pöllau.
Economy and Infrastructure

Saifen-Boden is located away from the major roads on Gschaiderstraße L 448 from Pöllau to Birkfeld . There the Weizer Straße B 72 from Weiz to Krieglach is reached in about ten kilometers .
Saifen-Boden has no rail connection. The nearest train station is about ten kilometers away in Birkfeld, but has not been in regular operation since 1973. Only one museum train has operated on the Feistritztalbahn since 1994.

Parks
The NaturKRAFTPark is an amusement park for the soul . Through numerous perception exercises, he makes it possible to get closer to nature and also to oneself.
Sports
The natural swimming pond is part of a biotope that houses many plants and animals. Due to its special protection, it offers excellent water quality through natural cleaning.
Due to its rural location and hilly landscape, there are a large number of hiking trails in the municipality of Saifen-Boden.
