Obterre is a municipality in France . It belongs to the Center-Val de Loire region , the Indre department , the Le Blanc arrondissement and the Le Blanc canton . The inhabitants are called Obterrois .

Obterre is located on the Aigronne River . The commune is bordered by Saint-Flovier to the north -west , Cléré-du-Bois to the north, Paulnay to the east, Azay-le-Ferron to the south, Bossay-sur-Claise to the south-west and Charnizay to the west . In addition to the main settlement, Obterre also includes the hamlets of Les Michauds, Les Betrands and Le Liron.

The Parc zoologique de la Haute-Touche in Obterre is an outstation of the Museum national d'histoire naturelle .
