Oliver Hermann (* 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German actor , theater producer , speaker and director .

Life

Education and theater

Hermann studied social education with a focus on psychiatry at the University of Lüneburg from 1982 to 1985 ; he completed his studies with a diploma. From 1984 to 1988 he completed private acting training in Hamburg and St. Petersburg .

In 1987 and 1988 he had guest engagements at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus ( Macbeth , director: Wilfried Minks and Hamlet , director: Michael Bogdanov ). In 1990 he was engaged as a guest at the Bremen Theater ( Peter Pan , director: Sigrid Andersson). From the 1990/91 season until 1994 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Hildesheim City Theater . Here he stepped u. a. in productions by Albrecht Hirche (in The Death and the Girl and Class Enemy by Nigel Williams ) and Ralf Knapp (including in Der Kirschgarten , Tales from the Vienna Woods and Nathan the Wise ). In 1994 he played at the Hamburger Kammerspiele in the play Der nackte Wahnsinn by Michael Frayn (director: Monika Steil).

In 2001 he appeared at the Schauspielhaus Kiel as Rüdiger in the play Drei by Franziska Steiof . Since 2001 he has been a permanent member of Michael Batz's "Hamburg Art Ensemble" . From 2002 to 2018 he worked every year at Hamburger Jedermann in the Speicherstadt .

In 2005/2006 he appeared as a development worker Lars in Henning Mankell's Africa play Antilopen at the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater . In the 2006/07 season he appeared at the Altona Theater as Jack Dobitch in the musical comedy Das Apartment . In 2012/2013 he played the notary Hermile Lebel at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in the play Burns by Wajdi Mouawad .

Since 1994 Hermann has emerged as an actor, producer, author and director with numerous own theater productions in Germany and abroad. He is the founder of the independent group "Axensprung Theater", which has gained a high reputation with audiences and the press at home and abroad since 2013 with productions on historical and current political issues. In 1995 he realized the theater production Feindberführung , a German-Russian, bilingual co-production about the Second World War with performances at the Opera Stabile in Hamburg and at the Teatr Kukol in St. Petersburg. Hermann's other theater productions were Boiling Point 1140. Marie Curie - Ein Leben (2008; Monsun theater ; director: Franziska Steiof; awarded the Rolf Mares Prize ).

Movie and TV

He is known as a film and television actor . Larger He gained fame for his series lead role as senior physician of Surgery Dr. Uwe Carstens in the hospital series Alphateam - The Lifesavers in the Operating Room (1997–1999). He played this role in over 100 episodes.

Hermann took part in Lars Jessen's A Song for the Murderer and had numerous episode roles a. a. in the series Doppelter Einsatz (2007), Da Comes Kalle (2008; as the owner of the riding stables Dörfel), Der Dicke (2010; as the unwilling father of a child Uwe Jakobsen), Die Pfefferkörner (2009; as a cemetery attendant) and Großstadtrevier (2014; as chairman of an allotment garden association) . In the ZDF series Sibel & Max (2015) he played a supporting role as chief physician of the clinic and supervisor of the series character Dr. Sibel Aydin. In Bad Cop (2017, director: Michael Kreindl) he played the police officer in the archive, in Morden im Norden (2018) he was the initially suspect neighbor Siggi Kraft.

In 2018 he played the role of Heinrich von Bückwitz in the arte / NDR documentary drama 1918 Uprising of the Sailors (director: Jens Becker ) alongside Ernst Stötzner in the role of Heinrich von Bückwitz, in Jürgen - Today is Lived (2017, director: Lars Jessen) the passenger in the Train.

Speaker and director

Since 2000 he has worked as a freelance actor, speaker and reciter with numerous readings. In 2018, two of his audio books were published by Griot Hörbuchverlag: love poetry and texts recorded together with Hannelore Hoger by Robert Walser and Peter Dreher .

As a director, Hermann has also realized his own film projects with people from socially and socially marginalized groups since 2002. a. with young people from socially disadvantaged areas in Hamburg on the topics of violence and bullying as well as with mentally ill people, etc. a. on the subjects of mania and depression .
