Iran participated in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City with a delegation of 14 male athletes in 14 competitions in three sports.
The Iranian athletes won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Olympic champions were weightlifter Mohammad Nassiri in bantamweight and freestyle wrestler Abdollah Movahed in lightweight. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wrestler Abolfazl Anvari .
