The qualification for the gymnastics competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics has been changed compared to the previous games. In the team all-round competitions at the games in Tokyo only four instead of five athletes per team. Two additional athletes per nation are permitted for the individual competitions.
In addition to the two world championships in 2018 and 2019 and the continental championships in 2020, qualifications will take place via the world cup in the period from 2018 to 2020.

Individual competitions
At the 2019 World Championships , each nation may receive a maximum of three quota places across all devices. Only in the all-around qualification, each nation may only receive one quota place within the framework of the world championships. In the other qualifying competitions, each nation may only occupy one quota place.
