history

Until 1803 Pees belonged to the Electorate of Cologne . The place was part of the " Honnschaft Elsaff", which belonged to the parish of Asbach and was under the administration of the Electoral Cologne office of Altenwied . In an inventory ordered by Cologne Elector Maximilian Heinrich in 1660, Pees had three courtyards. In 1787 six farms are noted.

After the Rhineland came to Prussia in 1815 , Pees belonged to the municipality of Elsaff in the then newly formed Neuwied district and was administered by the Asbach mayor . According to an 1885 census, Pees had 29 residents who lived in 9 houses.

Until March 16, 1974, Pees belonged to the previously independent municipality of Elsaff, which was dissolved on the same date and whose localities were assigned to the newly formed local communities Asbach and Buchholz according to the former parish affiliation . Here Pees came to Asbach and has been part of the Elsaff-Asbach district since then . In 1987 Pees had twelve residents.
