Pellendorf is a place and a cadastral municipality of the market town of Himberg in the Lower Austrian district of Bruck an der Leitha .

geography

Pellendorf lies between Himberg and Zwölfaxing and, in addition to the village, consists of two weekend house settlements, namely the bathing lake and the Kafkasee, which extend around the respective lakes. The lakes are green gravel pits.

history

1091 to 1563

According to a traditional note by the Benedictine monastery in Göttweig before 1091, the noble Bertha dedicated this monastery “ ad Pellindorph mansons IV liberales ” (four free hooves , a farmland of around 150 yokes). This foundation was made for the salvation of her deceased husband Albuier's soul. Although this note does not indicate the time, this dedication is apparently identical to King Henry V's confirmation document of September 6, 1108.

Pellendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1108, with the place name appearing in different spellings since the earliest times, namely as Pellindorf, Pellindorph, Pöllndorf .

Around 1429 the place is said to have belonged to the Ebersdorfers of Ebersdorf (today's Vienna-Kaiserebersdorf).

According to a description in the Urbar Himberg from 1499, this village was also completely deserted and uninhabitable - a consequence of the constant incursions from the east. After the first Turkish siege of Vienna in 1529, Pellendorf was repopulated with Italian settlers.

As the tax payments continued to decrease, the influx from Italy was stopped and the farms were re-donated by German farmers. Of the total of 22 housed estates, eleven were in Italian hands in the middle of the 16th century. An entry in the Vizedomischen ledger from 1563 mentions the names of twelve farmers from Pellendorf for the first time in connection with the hay harvesting for the princely stables in Vienna.

1576 to 1710

From 1576, several nobles tried to transfer the feudal rights for this place. These were rejected, however, because the sovereign from Pellendorf enjoyed important uses and benefits in kind for the “hunting and stables”.

The year 1591 brings the first precise information about Pellendorf. Records are arranged. According to these records, Pellendorf belonged with "22 urbar höldten" (subject Holden) in the vicomic Urbar. The place belonged to the sovereign. In 1661 Pellendorf was given to Count Franz Bernhard von Urschenbeck (1616–1672), imperial chamberlain and colonel-court falcon master under Ferdinand III. in return for loyal service as a pledged hereditary property. Pellendorf suffers severe damage to people and buildings as a result of the Second Turkish Siege of Vienna in 1683 .

1710 to 1938

After several changes of ownership, the Pellendorf dominion was acquired in 1710 by Konstantin Joseph von Gatterburg (1678–1734), who united the place with the Zwölfaxing dominion . After several changes of ownership , the Pellendorf estate is finally acquired by Anton Dreher , the owner of the Schwechat brewery .

1938 to 1972

The biggest administrative change for the Pellendorf community was the incorporation into Greater Vienna on October 15, 1938 . It belonged until the actual On the My Dung with 30 August 1954 to the then XXIII. Vienna district of Schwechat and thus during the 16 years of membership in the city of Vienna to the local authority of the Himberg office. Due to the Lower Austrian Municipal Structure Improvement Act of December 19, 1970, Pellendorf was forcibly united with the municipality of Himberg with effect from January 1, 1972. The last mayor of Pellendorf was Johann Prendl.

1972 until today

Anthony's Chapel

On May 19, 1986, Auxiliary Bishop Florian Kuntner undertook the solemn inauguration of the funeral hall and the Antonius Chapel. The octagonal building was built at the southern exit of the town according to plans by the architect Anton Seemann.
