Pia-Sophie Wolter (born November 13, 1997 in Bremen ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with Bundesliga club Vfl Wolfsburg . Her father is the former soccer player and coach Thomas Wolter .

Career

Wolter started playing soccer at habenhauser FV in 2006 after playing handball. In 2011 she moved to the youth department of Werder Bremen, with whose C-Juniors she became North German Champion in 2012 and was used for the B-Juniors from the 2012/13 season in the newly founded Bundesliga North / Northeast . On March 23, 2014 (15th matchday), she made her debut for the women's team in the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 0-1 home defeat against 1. FC Lübars and scored on May 25th 2014 (21st matchday) in the 3 : 1 away win against FF USV Jena II with the goal to the final score, their first goal. In 2014/15 she was an integral part of the team and was used in 21 of 22 league games. As a runner-up, she and the team were promoted to the Bundesliga at the end of the season, as champions 1. FC Lübars did not want to be promoted. After the season she was also voted Player of the Season by the fans. On August 30, 2015 (1st matchday), she made her debut from the start in a 6-2 home win against promoted 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga.

Wolter moved to VfL Wolfsburg for the 2018/19 season .

National team

Wolter made her debut in the national jersey in March 2015 in La Manga, Spain , when she played three times for the U-19 national team in a three-nation tournament . Four months later she was part of the 18-strong German squad for the U-19 European Championship , where she played in all four games, three of which as a substitute in the closing stages. In the semifinals against the Swedish selection, she was in the starting line-up, but had to admit defeat with the team to the eventual European champions on penalties .
