Marie-Joelle Wedemeyer (born August 12, 1996 in Braunschweig ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg .

Career

Wedemeyer played for MTV Wolfenbüttel until 2011 and then moved to the youth department of VfL Wolfsburg, for whose B-Juniors she played in the first-ever Bundesliga North / Northeast in the 2012/13 season . She took part in the national cup in 2011 (U-15), 2012 (U-17) and 2013 (U-19) with the teams of the Lower Saxony Football Association .

She has been a member of Wolfsburg's first team since the 2013/14 season, but is mainly used in the second team. After playing for the Bundesliga team for the first time on September 28, 2013 in the second round of the DFB Cup against regional division TSG Burg Gretesch, her first international match followed on October 16, 2013 with the Champions League sixteenth-final second leg against Pärnu JK Lot.

National team

Wedemeyer made her debut for the U-19 national team on April 7, 2014 , who defeated Ukraine 7-0 in Brussels . With the U-20 national team , she took part in the U-20 World Cup , which was held in Canada from August 5 to 24, 2014 , and played for Rebecca Knaak in the final against Nigeria's selection in the second half .
