The 1965/66 season was the 31st season of the Polish Ice Hockey League , the highest Polish ice hockey division . Podhale Nowy Targ became champions for the first time in the club's history . KS Cracovia was relegated to the 2nd division.

In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the final round, whose first-placed champions became. The last placed in the main round rose to the 2nd division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
