In the individual final, Venus Williams won against Kim Clijsters 6: 2 and 6: 4. In doubles, Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama defeated the pairing Nathalie Dechy / Émilie Loit 6: 2 and 6: 0 in the final .
