RU Still Down? (Remember Me) is the sixth studio album by American rapper Tupac Shakur . It is the artist's first posthumously released album and was released on November 25, 1997 on the Interscope , Amaru Entertainment and Jive Records labels . Tupac's recordings used for the album date from 1992 to 1994.
Production and samples
Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur, Lisa Smith-Putnam and We Got Kidz were executive producers on the album . Six songs on the album were also produced by We Got Kidz. 2Pac itself was involved in four instrumentals , while three productions each come from Tony Pizarro and Soulshock & Karlin. Warren G , Johnny "J" , Live Squad and DJ Daryl each produced two beats . In addition, the music producers QDIII , Ricky Rouse, Akshun, Mike Mosley, Choo and Chris Rosser were involved in the production of individual songs on the album.
16 tracks on the album contain samples from pieces by other artists, including Curtis Mayfield , Ice Cube , Roger Troutman and James Brown .
Cover design
The album cover shows Tupac's face. He looks at the viewer and puts both index fingers together in front of his mouth. At the top left of the picture is the white lettering 2Pac and the title RU Still Down? (Remember Me) is written in white at the bottom of the picture. The background is black.
Guest Posts
Other artists appear on twelve of the 26 songs in addition to Tupac Shakur. Rapper Stretch ( Hellrazor , Hold on, Be Strong ) and Outlawz member Big Syke ( Ready 4 Whatever , I'm Losin It ) each have two guest appearances. Tupac's rap group Outlawz, then called Dramacydal, can be heard on Enemies with Me , while R&B singer Eric Williams can be heard on Do for Love . Other guest contributions come from the R&B group Y? N-Vee ( Nothing to Lose ), the singers Val Young ( Hellrazor ) and Maxee ( I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto (Hip-Hop Version) ), the singer Dave Hollister ( Nothin but Love ), the DJ Akshun ( Open Fire ) and the rappers Spice 1 ( I'm Losin It ), Yaki Kadafi ( When I Get Free II ) and Richie Rich ( Lie to Kick It ).

RU Still Down? (Remember Me) entered the German charts at number 25 on December 8, 1997 and was at number 37 in the following weeks; 50 and 71. Overall, the album was able to stay in the top 100 for nine weeks. In the United States, the phonogram entered the charts at number 2 and stayed in the top 200 for 26 weeks.
As singles , the songs were I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto and Do for Love decoupled, each reached the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Sales figures and awards
For more than 2.1 million copies sold, RU was Still Down? (Remember Me) awarded four times platinum in the United States because double albums are rated twice there. The album also received a gold record in the UK for over 100,000 units sold.
