The Rathsbruch is a nature reserve in the town of Coswig (Anhalt) in the district of Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0093 is 11.69  hectares . It is part of the FFH area “Obere Nuthe- Laufen” and is surrounded by the landscape protection areas “Zerbster Nuthetäler” and “Roßlauer Vorfläming”. The area has been under protection since May 1, 1961 (date of regulation: March 30, 1961). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Wittenberg district.

The nature reserve is located between Bornum , a district of the city of Zerbst / Anhalt , and Ragösen , a district of the city of Coswig (Anhalt), in the Fläming Nature Park . It places a scrap forest remnant in the valley of the Nuthe on the edge of the Roßlau-Wittenberger Vorfläming under protection. The forest communities are dominated by swamp forests with bird cherries, alders and ash trees and in places by moor birches. Sedge-alder break forest grows in wet and boggy locations. In the herb layer of the broken forest communities settle u. a. Single berry , multi-flowered white root , sweet milkweed , wood twins , woolly buttercup and wood ragweed . There is also a chickweed, oak and hornbeam forest . Here settle in the herb layer u. a. Common scaly root , liverwort , large two-leaf , spotted arum , two- leaf shade flower and lily of the valley .

The forest companies offer u. a. Habitat for black , green , great spotted and small woodpecker , wryneck , woodcock , blackcap , nightingale , mistletoe and field thrush as well as grosbeak , on the edges of the forest also ortolan .

The nature reserve is surrounded by arable land , grassland areas divided by trees and further forest areas in the northeast.
