Reich & sexy II is a best-of album by Die Toten Hosen . It was released as a single or double CD on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary. The first CD, which bears the subtitle Die fetten Jahre , consists for the most part of successful titles from the group since 1993. It also contains three new, previously unpublished songs: Irre , Madeleine (from Lüdenscheid) and Zur Hölle und zurück .
The second CD is intended as an anniversary bonus, was not available for purchase individually and bears the subtitle Perlen vor die Säu . It consists mainly of B-sides of previously published singles, a studio session from 1987 and an interview with the former guitarist of the band Walter November, who left Die Toten Hosen shortly after it was founded.
Cover
In terms of the cover design, the band is based on their first compilation Reich & sexy from 1993, but now surrounds itself with ninety unclothed models instead of thirteen naked women. The two photographers Nina Pohl and Andreas Gursky had not asked that many women into the studio for the photo, because the picture is a digital photo montage and some models were depicted several times.
Gursky photographed the audience from the stage at a concert by the Toten Hosen in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle as early as 2000 . The large-format photo can be seen today in the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
