Rhinebeck is a village in the Town of Rhinebeck in Dutchess County in the US state of New York . At the time of the United States Census 2010 , Rhinebeck had 2,657 inhabitants. It is part of the Poughkeepsie - Newburgh - Middletown , NY Metropolitan Statistical Area and the New York - Newark - Bridgeport , NY- NJ - CT - PA Combined Statistical Area .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 4.0 km 2 , of which 0.05 km 2 (or 1.31%) is water.
About the US Highway 9 , there are km south 27 to Poughkeepsie and km north 8 to Red Hook as well as 42 km to Hudson . Rhinecliff with the Amtrak station is two miles to the west, on the banks of the Hudson River .
