Robert Beran (born November 15, 1969 in Martin , Czechoslovakia ) is a Luxembourg - Slovak ice hockey player who has been playing for Tornado Luxembourg again in the fourth-class French division 3 since 2015 . His son Thierry is also a Luxembourg national player.
Career
Robert Beran began his career in Czechoslovakia with Hutník ZŤS Martin . He later played for Iskra Smrečina Banská Bystrica in the 1st Slovenská národná hokejová league , the second highest Czechoslovak league in the Slovak part of the country. In 1993 he moved to Tornado Luxembourg , for whom he played in the Regionalliga Hessen / Rheinland-Pfalz from 2000 . In 2001, 2002 and 2003 he won the Luxembourg championship with the team and also won the cup in 2003 . After spending the 2005/06 season at IHC Beaufort , he returned to Tornado and won the cup competition with him again in 2007. After playing in Beaufort again from 2011 to 2015 and competing with the team in the fifth-rate Rhineland-Palatinate League , he was drawn to Tornado for the third time in 2015, where he has since played in the fourth-rate French Division 3 .
International
After his naturalization, Beran made his debut for Luxembourg in the World Championship of Division II in 2004 , when the team had to accept relegation despite being tied with Israel due to the 40 goals worse goal difference. 2005 , when he was top scorer and best preparer of the tournament, 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , when he was again top scorer and best preparer of the tournament, 2010 , 2011 , when he was the third most assists of the tournament behind the Israelis Eliezer Sherbatov and Sergei Frenkel gave, in 2012 , when he - behind the Irish Gareth Roberts - was the second best goal setter and together with the Turkish Emrah Özmen also the second best scorer of the tournament, 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 , when he was the second best preparer behind the Georgian Artjom Kurbatow was also voted the best striker of the tournament, he took part with the team from the Grand Duchy in the games of Division III.
Before Beran was even on the ice for Luxembourg, he was the head coach of Luxembourg's youngsters at the 2000 U18 World Cup in Europe Division II, the qualification for the 2001 U20 World Cup and the 2003 U20 World Cup .
