Roberto Rodríguez (born July 28, 1990 ) is a Swiss football player with Spanish and Chilean ancestors who was most recently under contract with the German third division club KFC Uerdingen .
Career
Roberto Rodríguez played in the youth of the Grasshopper Club Zurich before moving to FC Wil in the Challenge League in 2009. After the relegation of AC Bellinzona from the top division, Rodríguez moved to the Ticino in late August 2011. There he played until the end of the 2012/13 season for financial reasons the ACB no longer received a license and was forcibly relegated.
For the coming season he was signed by FC St. Gallen , where he made his Super League debut at the game in Thun . Roberto Rodríguez quickly won a regular place and was also involved in FC St. Gallen qualifying for the group stage in the UEFA Europa League . In the playoff second leg he scored the interim 3-1 at Spartak Moscow . He scored his first goal in the Super League on October 6, 2013 to make it 1-0 against FC Aarau .
After two years at FCSG, Rodríguez moved to Novara Calcio in the Italian Serie B.
After half a year in Italy, he was awarded to the second division team SpVgg Greuther Fürth until the end of the season in Germany .
In the new season he moved to the Swiss Challengeligisten and Super League relegated FC Zurich . He signed a three-year contract there and quickly developed into a regular. The midfielder won the Challenge League championship and the Swiss Cup with the club .
In the winter break of the 2018/19 season he joined the German third division promoted KFC Uerdingen 05 after only 7 appearances in the first half of the season . At the end of June 2020, the association announced the premature termination of the contract.

His brothers Ricardo and Francisco are also active as football players.
