Rose Abdoo

Rose Abdoo (born November 28, 1962 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress and comedian of Lebanese - Dominican descent.

life and career

Rose Abdoo is from Chicago and has Lebanese-Dominican roots. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Michigan State University . Her acting career began in her native city, where she initially appeared in improvisational theaters or at Second City . With the latter, she appeared in the play We Made a Mesopotamia, Now You Clean It Up , for which she was awarded a Joseph Jefferson Award in 1991 for best actress in a revue . In 1994 she personally moderated this award ceremony. For a short time she was part of the short-lived variety program Happy Happy Good Show alongside Conor O'Brian and Bob Odenkirk .

Since 1993 she has taken on roles in film and television and was initially seen as Beverly Florio in the series Johnny Bago . Other series appearances followed, for example in Missing Persons , Pride & Joy , Lass es, Larry! , Dr. Vegas , CSI: NY , Monk or Malcolm right in the middle . Also in films like My Best Friend's Wedding , Who Killed Vicotr Fox? or Good Night, and Good Luck. she soon took on supporting roles. For the latter, she and the ensemble were nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award .

Abdoo became famous for her roles in the series Raven looks through or as Gypsy in Gilmore Girls . Also for the sequel Gilmore Girls: A New Year she was in front of the camera again in 2016. Further supporting roles in series followed with New in Paradise , Parenthood and 2015 in Scandal .
