Ruppach is part of the municipality of the Lower Franconian town of Ebern in the Haßberge district .

geography

The village is about one and a half kilometers from Ebern, in the eastern part of the district on the Preppach, a right tributary of the Baunach . A community road leads through Ruppach from the federal road 279 west to Unterpreppach .

history

The place name probably goes back to a small stream, the "Ruobbach".

The first documented mention was in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and among other things "Rubach" came to the parish Ebern. In 1358 Gottfried von Füllbach received the village "Rubach" as a Würzburg fief . Around 1450 Heinz von Füllbach got the village for free ownership. In 1579 the Raueneck owned goods in "Rübach".

The spelling with pp only begins in the 19th century. In 1862 the rural community of Preppach , consisting of three places, the parish village of Preppach, the hamlet of Ruppach and the wasteland of Ruppachsmühle, was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Ebern . The hamlet, 2.5 kilometers from Preppach, had 44 inhabitants in 1871. He belonged to the Protestant parish in Eyrichshof , 1.5 kilometers away , where the Protestant denominational school was also located. In 1900 the 437.83 hectare rural community of Preppach with its three towns had 238 inhabitants, 200 of whom were Catholic. In the predominantly Protestant Ruppach, 34 people lived in 7 residential buildings. In 1925 there were 33 people in 6 residential buildings.

In 1950 the hamlet had 43 residents and 6 residential buildings. In 1961 Ruppach had 34 residents and 6 residential buildings. It still belonged to the Catholic parish in Unterpreppach and to the Protestant parish in Eyrichshof. In 1970 there were 27 residents and in 1987 45 residents and 15 residential buildings with 16 apartments.

On July 1, 1972, Ruppach, at that time still a hamlet, was incorporated with Unterpreppach after Ebern. At the same time, as part of the regional reform , the places came from the dissolved Ebern district to the new Haßberg district.
