South Molo ( Indonesian Molo Selatan , also Mollo Selatan ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the west lies the district Westmolo (Molo Barat) , in the north Central Molo (Molo Tengah) , in the east Kuatnana and in the south West Amanuban (Amanuban Barat) , Kota Soe and Batu Putih .
South Molo has an area of 147.18 km² and is divided into the seven Desa Tuasene , Biloto , Bisene , Bikekneno , Kestnana , Oinlasi and Noinbila . The Desas are again divided into a total of 24 Dusun (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in Biloto. The district is characterized by large differences in altitude. Tuasene is 175 m above sea level , while Kesetnana is 890 m . As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 15,849 inhabitants in 3,501 households in South Molo. 8,053 were men and 7,796 women. The population density was 108 people per square kilometer. KATHOLIK1 people professed their Catholic faith, PROTESTAN1 were Protestants and ISLAM1 people of the Muslim faith. There are three Catholic and 20 Protestant churches and chapels and one Hindu temple in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (6,923), horses (14), pigs (4,715), goats (602), ducks (161) and chickens (16,885) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,260 hectares, 314 hectares of rice, 21 hectares of cassava, 25 hectares of peanuts and 15 hectares of green beans. Other agricultural products include tomatoes, avocados, tangerines, oranges, papayas, bananas and sirsak.
There are 13 primary schools, five middle schools and three secondary schools in South Molo. A municipal health center ( Puskesmas ) and a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . There are two doctors, six midwives and three nurses in the district.
