Poland ( Indonesian Poland ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the north of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the west lies the Tobu district , in the southwest north Molo (Molo Utara) and central Molo (Molo Tengah) and in the south and southeast Oenino . To the north Poland borders the Region of North Central Timor (Timor Tengah Utara) with its districts Westmiomaffo (Miomaffo Barat) and Noimuti .
Poland has an area of 250.29 km² and is divided into the eleven Desa Laob , Konbaki , Puna , Loli , Mnesatbubuk , Bijeli , Usapimnasi , Fatumnutu , Oelnunuh , Balu and Sainoni . The administrative headquarters are in Puna. While Puna and Loli are 376 m above sea level , Fatumnutu is 944 m and Usapimnasi even at an altitude of 996 m above sea level. As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season . The 100 rainy days are spread over the months of January to June. The rest of the year there is no rainfall. In 2017, a total annual amount of 1,518 mm of precipitation per square meter was measured.
Residents
In 2017 there were 14,492 inhabitants in 3,652 households in Poland. 7,172 were men and 7,320 women. The population density was 57.90 people per square kilometer. The majority of the population are Protestants, there are also Catholics. There are nine Catholic and 35 Protestant churches in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (8,209), horses (39), buffaloes (90), pigs (7,183), goats (456) and chickens (15,373) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 2,012 hectares, 209 hectares of rice, 38 hectares of cassava, twelve hectares of sweet potatoes and 16 hectares of peanuts. Other agricultural products include onions, potatoes, cabbage, kidney beans, long beans, chillies, tomatoes, aubergines, cucumbers, mangoes, papayas, bananas, prickly peas and jackfruits. Coconuts, pecans, kapok, areca nuts, nutmeg, cocoa, betel nuts and cashew nuts come from plantations.
In Poland there are ten kindergartens, 21 primary schools (15 public and six private), five secondary schools (four public and one private) and two secondary schools (one public and one private). Two communal health centers ( Puskesmas ) and a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . Two doctors, 23 midwives and 14 nurses work in Poland.
There are weekly markets in Puna and Sainoni. There are also 92 shops. You will look in vain for hotels and restaurants.
