Kuan Fatu is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the southwest of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the west are the districts of South Amanuban (Amanuban Selatan) and Noebeba , in the north Kuatnana and Central Amanuban (Amanuban Tengah) , in the east Kolbano and in the south Kualin .
Kuan Fatu has an area of 136.54 km² and is divided into the 13 Desa Kusi , Kuanfatu , Kelle , Basmuti , Kakan , Lasi , Olais , Nordkusi (Kusi Utara) , Kelle Tunan , Taupi , Oebo , Oehan , Noebeba . The administrative headquarters are in Kuanfatu. The Desa are again divided into a total of 30 Dusun (sub-villages). While Kuanfatu is 398 m above sea level , Kelle Tunan is 835 m above sea level. As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .
Residents
In 2017 there were 20,013 residents in Kuan Fatu. 9,976 were men and 10,037 were women. There are seven Catholic and 70 Protestant churches and chapels and a mosque in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (6,763), buffalo (25), pigs (7,429), goats (1,776), ducks (52) and chickens (24,541) are kept as pets. Maize is grown on 5,678 hectares, eight hectares of rice, 1,490 hectares of manioc, seven hectares of sweet potatoes, four hectares of peanuts and five hectares of mung beans. Other agricultural products include onions, chilli, tomatoes, eggplants, spinach, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, oranges, papayas, bananas and jackfruits. Coconuts, pecans, kapok, cashews, areca nuts, coffee, cocoa and betel nuts come from plantations.
There are 27 elementary schools, eight middle schools and one secondary school in Kuan Fatu. A municipal health center ( Puskesmas ) and a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . There are three doctors, eight midwives and three nurses in the district.
