Kie is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the east of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the east lie the districts of Fautmolo and South Amanatun (Amanatun Selatan) , in the southeast Nunkolo , in the south Kolbano , in the west Central Amanuban (Amanuban Tengah) and in the north Oenino and East Amanuban (Amanuban Timur) .
Kie has an area of 162.78 km² and is divided into the 13 Desa Fatuulan , Tesi Ayofanu , Belle , Nekmese , Boti , Oenai , Oinlasi , Napi , Falas , Pili , Eno Napi , Naileu and Fatukusi . The administrative headquarters are in Napi. The Desa are again divided into a total of 40 Dusun (sub-villages). While Fatukusi lies at an altitude of 498 m , Fatuulan is at an altitude of 1177 m above sea level. As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 22,206 inhabitants in Kie. 10,647 were men, 11,559 women. The population density was 136 people per square kilometer. There were four Catholic and 58 Protestant churches and chapels and seven mosques in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (10,641), horses (two), buffaloes (one), pigs (7,677), goats (654) and chickens (15,988) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 4,728 hectares, two hectares of rice, 362 hectares of manioc, 30 hectares of sweet potatoes, seven hectares of soybeans and ten hectares of mung beans. Other agricultural products include onions, garlic, potatoes, cabbage, kidney beans, chilli, avocado, mango, oranges, papayas, bananas and aubergines. Kapuk, coffee and cocoa come from plantations.
In Kie there are 24 elementary schools, ten middle schools and two secondary schools. A communal health center ( puskesmas ) in Napi provides medical care . There are no other medical facilities in the other villages, such as medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) or midwifery centers ( Polindes ).
