West Molo ( Indonesian Molo Barat , also Mollo Barat ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the north are the districts of Nunbena and North Molo (Molo Utara) and in the east Central Molo (Molo Tengah) , South Molo (Molo Selatan) and Batu Putih . In the west, Westmolo borders the government district of Kupang with its district of Takari .
Westmolo has an area of 165.14 km² and is divided into the five Desa Besana , Fatukoko , Koa , Salbait and Oeuban . The Desas are again divided into ten Dusun (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in Salbait. Koa is at an altitude of 246 m , Oeuban is at 597 m . As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 7,844 inhabitants in 1,987 households in Westmolo. 3,910 were men and 3,934 women. The population density was 47 people per square kilometer. There were six Catholic and 22 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (1,150), horses (five), buffalo (80), pigs (5,763), goats (383), ducks (35) and chickens (11,243) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 384 hectares, rice on 928 hectares, cassava on 137 hectares, sweet potatoes on five hectares, peanuts on 472 hectares and green beans on two hectares. Other agricultural products are chilli, eggplant, jackfruit, tangerines, guavas, bananas, papayas and sirsak.
There are nine elementary schools and three middle schools in West Molo. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), two medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and a midwifery center ( Polindes ) are available for medical care . A doctor, four midwives and five nurses work in the district.
