Central Molo ( Indonesian Molo Tengah , also Mollo Tengah ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the west of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) of the East Nusa Tenggara Province (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the west lies the district Westmolo (Molo Barat) , in the north Nordmolo (Molo Utara) , in the east Oenino , in the southeast Kuatnana and in the south Südmolo (Molo Selatan) .
Central Molo has an area of 99.69 km² and is divided into the six Desa Binaus , Oelbubuk , Kualeu , Nekemunifeto , Oel'Ekam and Pika . The Desas are again divided into a total of 17 Dusu (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in Sakteo. The villages are located at an altitude between 632 m (Pika) and 1085 m (Kualeu). As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season . Most of the rain falls in December, while August and September remain dry. In 2017, the annual amount of precipitation was 1,942 millimeters per square meter.
Residents
In 2017, 7,507 people lived in 1,795 households in Central Molo. 3,761 were men, 3,746 women. The population density was 75 people per square kilometer. There was one Catholic and 16 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (3,576), horses (80), pigs (BABI), goats (792) and chickens (5,520) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 818 hectares, rice on 52 hectares, cassava on 632 hectares, sweet potatoes on 49 hectares and peanuts on five hectares. Other agricultural products include cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, eggplants, beans, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, papayas, bananas and sirsak. Light nuts, coconuts, kapok, cashew nuts, coffee, cocoa, betel nuts and tamarind come from plantations.
There are ten primary schools, two middle schools and two secondary schools in Central Molo. A community health center ( Puskesmas ), a medical care center ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) and a midwifery center ( Polindes ) are available for medical care . There are two doctors, eleven midwives and nine nurses working in the district.
