Toianas is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the east of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . In the south is the district of Boking , in the southwest Santian , in the west North Amanatun (Amanatun Utara) and in the north Kokbaun . Toianas borders the Malaka administrative district with its Rinhat , Weliman and Wewiku districts to the east .
Toianas has an area of 103.95 km² and is divided into the nine Desa Oeleu , Skinu , Toianas . Sambet , Bokong , Tuataum , Lobus , Milli and Noeolin . The Desa are again divided into a total of 30 Dusun (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in Toianas village. Skinu is 30 meters above sea level , while Sambet is 553 meters above sea level . As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season . From August to December there is hardly any rain, while February is the rainiest month. In 2016, 76 rainy days were counted and a total of 1304 millimeters of precipitation was recorded.

Residents
In 2017, Toianas had 13,198 inhabitants. 6,432 were men, 6,766 women. The population density was 127 people per square kilometer. There are ten Catholic and 19 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (5,516), horses (22), buffalo (35), pigs (9,404), goats (268) and chickens (20,274) are kept as pets. Maize is grown on 2,298 hectares, manioc on 161 hectares, sweet potatoes on two hectares and mung beans on 515 hectares. Rice is not cultivated in the district. Other agricultural products include chilli, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, papayas, bananas and bread fruits. Coconuts, kapuk and cashew nuts come from plantations.
Toianas has 15 primary schools, six middle schools and three secondary schools. A municipal health center ( Puskesmas ) in Toianas and two medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . A doctor, four midwives and three nurses.
