Boking is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the east of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) , on the coast of the Timor Sea . The sea is located southeast of the district. In the south lies the district of Nunkolo , in the west South Amanatun (Amanatun Selatan) and in the north Santian and Toiana . In the northeast is the Malaka administrative district with its Wewiku district .
Boking has an area of 94.58 km² and is divided into the seven Desa Boking , Nano , Boking , Leonmeni , Meusin , Baus and Fatu Manufui . Boking, Meusin, Baus and Fatu Manufui have access to the sea. Sabun, Nano and Leonmeni are inland. The Desa are divided into 23 Dusun (sub-villages). The administrative headquarters are in the village of Boking. While Meusin is 19 m above sea level , Leonmeni is 361 m above sea level. As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017, 10,382 people lived in Boking. 5,024 were men, 5,358 women. The population density was 110 people per square kilometer. There were four Catholic and 37 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (5,509), buffalo (seven), pigs (3,973), goats (146) and chickens (5,235) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,349 hectares, cassava on 600 hectares, soybeans on 20 hectares and mung beans on 56 hectares. Rice is not grown at all. Other agricultural products include tomatoes, leafy vegetables, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, papayas, bananas and sirsak. Coffee and cocoa come in small quantities from plantations.
There are twelve elementary schools, three middle schools and two secondary schools in Boking. Only one community health center ( Puskesmas ) in Boking is available for medical care . There are no other medical facilities such as medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) or midwifery centers ( Polindes ). The district has a doctor, three midwives, and two nurses.
